Introduction to Tapestry Weaving
About the Course
This course offers a hands-on introduction to the fundamental skills of tapestry weaving.
You’ll learn:
– how to warp a simple frame loom
– choose a design
– explore basic weaving techniques
– create shapes and lines
– experiment with colour changes
– explore different textures
Working on a small frame loom, you’ll start by using a cotton warp and wool weft, building confidence in your technique before exploring your own creative possibilities. At the end, you will have completed your very own finished Tapestry to take home!
Loom and all materials will be provided.

📍 Location: St. Margaret’s House, Second Floor
📅 Dates: Thursdays 01, 08, 15 & 22 May > 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM (2.5 hours per session, 10 hours total)
📅 Dates: Saturdays 03, 10, 17 & 24 May > 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM (2.5 hours per session, 10 hours total)
