Wanderlust
An Exhibition of Analogue Photography & Art Made in New York12-21 June 2026 at Scot-Art
By Mira Knoche
In this exhibition, Mira Knoche presents a selection of hand-developed
black and white photography, bringing together images from her recent
year-long stay in Spanish Harlem (El Barrio), New York, and processing
her journey between NYC and Edinburgh.
Wanderlust (a German Romantic term for the joy of wandering round the
world) also includes a selection of paintings and etchings, created during
her studies at the New York Academy of Art, often with a focus on
women’s transgressive kinship. At a time of accelerated global tension,
the show aims for a slowed down way of looking and for people of
different cultures connecting.
Mira Knoche (b.1984 in Germany) is an Edinburgh based Artist. She
graduated from the Glasgow School of Art (BFA in Painting & Printmaking)
and studied at the New York Academy of Art (MFA in Painting, Sculpture
and Printmaking programme) as a Fulbright scholar in 2024-25. She
currently has a project space at the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop.
