Open Invitation to Honour Oil Industry workers who lost their lives whilst working offshore.

Every year, The Oil and Gas chaplaincy hold the industry’s Annual Service of Remembrance to commemorate the lives lost while working offshore.

The Oil and Gas Chaplaincy, based in Aberdeen, provides pastoral care and support to those who work or have worked in the industry.  The Chaplaincy is for everyone regardless of faith or none. Created in the 1980s, originally brought on by the aftermath of the Chinook helicopter disaster in Shetland, however, it wasn’t until the Piper Alpha disaster that efforts to advance the necessary steps to formalise the Chaplaincy, took place.

Åpen invitasjon til minnestund for offshore arbeidere som har mistet livet i skotske farvann

Translation provided by Madeleine Jamieson

The Seven Ravens

Part of Puppet Animation Festival 2023.

12th of April at 1pm.

A Raven visits a young, unhappy girl.
Why are the birds gathering?
And what is the secret that Ada learns about her past?

Inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale of the same name, this tells the story of Ada, a young girl who is unhappy at school. She is visited by a Raven and thrust into a dream world of quests, feathers and a Glass Mountain.

The audience is taken on a tiny world adventure over an extraordinary, felted landscape as Ada unlocks the secret the Raven is trying to tell her.

The Seven Ravens is a brand new and unique performance/installation by Tragic Carpet Theatre using an innovative mix of live puppetry, digital image capture, processing and display, needle felting and specially composed music and song.

20/20 HINDSIGHT: a showcase of womxn’s writing art and music

Blunt Knife Co. is a new social enterprise based in Edinburgh that supports and promotes creative womxn. This month we launch our first project 20/20 HINDSIGHT, a showcase of writing, art and music by womxn creators.

For the most part, the last 12 months have been a steaming pile of shite, but from within the dung-heap brilliant artists have persevered and pushed out art that has enthralled us, inspired us, excited us and had us fist-pumping F*CK YEAHs to the universe.

From April 10 we’ll be bringing you a selection of 20 works by womxn that you may have missed amongst the chaos. It’s just a drop in a big pool of awesome, but think of it as a taste-test of Blunt Knife Co. and what we’re about.

To stay tuned follow on socials @bluntknifeco or head to bluntknife.co
